For Joe DiMaggio, his path to the Major Leagues was far different than the traditional routes we see so often today, essentially piggy backing off of the new found success of his older brother Vince DiMaggio on the San Fransisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League. Vince would go on to convince the Seals' manager to let a wide eyed Joe DiMaggio try his luck at shortstop on October 1, 1932 & Joe never looked back. Prior to his fifty six (56) game hitting streak in the majors, DiMaggio would reach an even more impressive mark in the Pacific Coast League (PCL)with sixty one (61) consecutive hits. Offered here is an incredibly rare relic in this vintage 1950's Pacific Coast League single signed baseball by no other than Joe D on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint. The ball itself remains in excellent condition showing a light even toning throughout. These single signed PCL DiMaggio balls do not turn up often, but when they do they are some of the most desirable DiMaggio signed items in the hobby. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
