Boss of New York’s most powerful crime family and model for The Godfather. Having gained control of various businesses, many illegal, including garbage disposal, stock price manipulation, pornography distribution, topless bars, loansharking, supermarkets, mattresses, pizza parlor equipment, and countless others, Gambino amassed such business acumen that he was persuaded to enter a partnership with Schiller and Henry Saltzstein. The result was a consulting service, S. G. S. Associates, with Gambino charging $40,000 per session.
Offered here is one of the checks from the S.G.S. Associates partnership, 8.25" x 3", filled out in another hand and signed by Gambino (and George Schiller), payable to Bing & Bing for $492.21, January 3, 1963. In very good condition, with usual bank stamps and vertical fold from handling. Gambino's signature is clean and strong. Nicely matted along with a portrait image of the notorious mobster and housed in an attractive custom framed display. Impressive! Previously pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
