28" x 14" During the 1960's, the race to land the first man on the moon was front and foremost in the minds of the American and Russian governments. While each space program had their fair share of setbacks, the United States space program took its biggest step at 4:18 p.m. ET, on July 20, 1969. In the area of the moon known as "The Sea of Tranquility" the Apollo lunar lander touched down on the surface of the moon. Fans standing for the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium cheered, while across the ocean in London, England the broadcasters announce, "The American's have done it!" That moment defined the end of the turbulent 1960's as America emerged as the winner in the race to the surface of the moon. Presented is a 24" x 14" framed & matted display featuring single signed & personalized (Aldrin's inscription deemed secretarial) 8" x 10" photographs by each Apollo 11 crew member - Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins & Buzz Aldrin. Overall in fine condition with minor creasing to the photographs & handling wear to the edges of the frame. Authenticated with a full letter of authenticity from Steve Zarelli & this item has been reviewed by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and is guaranteed to pass their authentication. Full certification for this item can be acquired for an additional fee. Please contact our offices at 1-800-325-7127 or email us at Info@IconicAuctions.com for pricing and details.
