Although they started their careers miles apart, both Bob Dylan & Jimi Hendrix migrated to New York's thriving Greenwich Village club scene in the 1960s, which provided them a hip venue and a springboard for both to international acclaim. Although they were not close friends, Jimi was a huge fan of Dylan and covered at least four of his tunes, most notably, "All Along the Watchtower." Hendrix noted in Rolling Stone Magazine in 1969, "I love Dylan. I only met him once, about three years ago, back at the Kettle of Fish on MacDougal Street. That was before I went to England. I think both of us were pretty drunk at the time, so he probably doesn't remember it." Around the same time, he told Beat Magazine, "Sometimes I do a Dylan song and it seems to fit me so right that I figure maybe I wrote it. Dylan didn't always do it for me as a singer, not in the early days, but then I started listening to the lyrics. That sold me." Along the same lines, Dylan was known to have said of Hendrix's rendition of "All Along the Watch Tower", “I liked Jimi Hendrix’s record of this and ever since he died I’ve been doing it that way… Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it’s a tribute to him in some kind of way.” Clearly, despite having only met the one time - with both in less than tip top shape during the meeting - both musicians had enormous respect for each other. In a nearly unheard-of combination of autographs, offered here is a full-sized original Jimi Hendrix concert poster, signed by both legends - Jimi Hendrix & Bob Dylan - on the reverse in black ink. The poster measures to a size of 29" x 23", with the autographed portion being on the reverse of the upper left 1/8th of the poster, measuring 8" x 6". This is, to date, the ONLY dual-signed Hendrix/Dylan piece on the market, very likely signed on that fateful night at the Kettle of Fish in Greenwich Village. In fine condition with light handling wear, a tear coming partially down from the top right, and typical horizontal and vertical folds. This relic is not to be overlooked!
