Original handwritten lyrics from the legendary performer, accomplished in pencil, one page, 5" x 8", on a lined yellow note sheet. Lyrics to the song "Ramblin' Rose" which was originally recorded and released on "Chuck Berry in Memphis" (1967). This song was originally written by Noel and Joe Sherman, and was made famous initially by Nat King Cole. Tis handwritten example includes re-worked lyrics to Berry's liking. In addition to the lyrics, there is a handwritten notation on the top right side ("Eviction 190.00") concerning an eviction--a reference to Berry's second career as a landlord. One would assume that Berry likely decided to play the song while on tour and wrote out the lyrics to use while on stage. Acquired directly from the archives of the Chuck Berry estate and in overall fine condition.
