The apex of modern rock autographs, presented here for your bidding consideration is a 10" x 8" glossy color photograph of Nirvana, beautifully hand signed in blue felt tip marker by all three members: Kurt Cobain, David Grohl and Krist Novoselic. Some minor intersecting of Cobain and Grohl's autographs, however both signatures remain distinct and legible. In overall fine condition.
Obtained by legendary in-person autograph collector John Brennan, who first met Nirvana in January 1992, in the lobby of NBC when they were at the Thursday music rehearsal for a “Saturday Night Live” performance. Brennan's keen instincts as a music buff and autograph collector propelled him to seek out Nirvana for autographs at any opportunity he could get, meeting the band a total of 8-12 times. He followed them before they were famous: “I just knew.” He followed them all of 1992 and 1993. Drummer Dave Grohl is seen wearing a “Secret Sounds” t-shirt on the album cover for “Muddy Banks of Wishkah,” which Brennan gave him. “Dave was always difficult to deal with; Kurt was the easy one.”
Nirvana group signed items are of the utmost rarity, with signed color photos perhaps being the scarcest of any medium signed by the band.
