Stock certificate issued to “The Clerk of the Circuit Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Michigan” for five thousand shares of capital stock in the Michigan Central Railroad Company. Signed at the conclusion by Cornelius Vanderbilt as the company's vice president. In fine condition, with adhesive remnants to left edge and two cancellation holes to Vanderbilt’s signature.
