A freshly christened backstop helped the proud organization turn around its fortunes. Signed the year Thurman Munson copped Rookie of the Year honors is this OAL (Cronin) horsehide. A "passing of the torch" of sorts, showcased on the same panel of this ball are Thurman Munson and Mickey Mantle, as Mantle served as a coach on the staff for the season.
