This Auto Graded Gem Mint 10!, 11" x 15.5" Peruvian Ambassador Appointment Document Dated June 8, 1861, has been personally signed by Abraham Lincoln. The item is to include a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services. The document has flattened folds, with minor foxing throughout and edge toning. There are some small areas of soiling at the lower left and right edges. Overall in good condition.

One partially printed page. Lincoln authorizes and appoints "Christopher Robinson, of Rhode Island, to be Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Peru...until the end of the next session of the Senate of the United States, and no longer..." Boldly signed by Lincoln. Countersigned by William H. Seward as Secretary of State. With a blind embossed seal of the United States at the lower left. Robinson served as Minister to Peru from 1861-1866.
