A framed first class dinner plate used in James Cameron’s Oscar-winning epic, Titanic. One of the most successful movies of all time, Titanic tells the story of Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), an engaged aristocrat sailing aboard the RMS Titanic on its fateful maiden voyage with her fiancé Caledon ‘Cal’ Hockley (Billy Zane), and her fortuitous meeting with steerage passenger Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio).
This piece was used in the first class restaurant scenes, including the scenes where Jack and Rose have dinner together after Jack saves Rose’s life. Made especially for the production by the same company that made all the crockery for the original Titanic, the plate features a White Star Shipping Company emblem at its centre.
