Here is an exceedingly rare large triptych photograph of R.E.M. signed by Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills (who adds “Hey Bob, Thanks”) and Bill Berry (who adds “Thanks Bob”). The bandmembers signed this for a senior executive of their label, Warner Bros. Records in 1991 as a “thank you”, the year of their breakthrough album Out of Time, which has sold more than 18 million copies worldwide. On the strength of massive hits such as “Losing My Religion” and “Shiny Happy People”, the album Out Of Time propelled R.E.M. from a cult band to a massive international act. Folded, the three panel die-cut triptych measures 10 inches x 14 ¼ inches; when opened, it reveals a photograph of the band by noted photographer Michael Tighe, measuring an impressive 30 inches x 14 ½ inches. Tighe’s signature is printed, but the all-important signatures of the band members are all original. Comes with a COA from Jeff Gold of Recordmecca. Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros. Records, who worked closely with R.E.M., and obtained this directly from a former co-worker.
