They are considered to be the two greatest Yankees - perhaps even the two greatest players - of all time. The Sultan of Swat, Babe Ruth, started his career as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox before he was sold to the Yankees for the mere sum of $125,000 - a laughable amount today, where millions of dollars are regularly seen offered up for even the most mediocre of players. The Babe set the MLB record for career home runs, slugging percentage, RBIs, and bases on balls. Similarly, The Iron Horse, Lou Gehrig, played for 17 seasons with the Yankees and was a 7 time All-Star, 2 time AL MVP, a Triple Crown winner, and (perhaps most impressive of all) played 2,130 games straight. Signed photos from the two of them are nearly impossible to find, and are extremely valuable - those that do surface often have condition issues and some sort of personalization or inscription from at least one of the two players. This 6" x 8" original vintage photograph has been signed by both Yankee legends in stunning steel tip, as the pair poses together in their pinstripes, gloves in-hand. The photograph itself stands in fine condition with some surface rubbing and slight discoloration as well as some light bubbling to the glossy finish of the photo.
