In 1927, Babe Ruth set the record for most home runs in a single season, at 60 homers. The record stood for 34 years until Roger Maris hit his 61st home run of the 1961 season on October 1st, in the final game of the regular season. It's only fitting, then, that Maris should go onto sign this Rawlings Official Babe Ruth League baseball in blue ballpoint pen. Two of the greatest Yankees - even greatest players - of all time, commemorated in one piece. The ball exhibits moderate toning common to baseballs manufactured in Haiti, as this one was. Maris' signature stands boldly on the sweet spot - a rare single signed sphere from the record breaking player. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
