Queen had been playing the club and college circuit around London for almost two years before they finall had the opportunity to put together a demo tape of five songs. They were finally given a break and signed in 1972 by Barry and Norman Sheffield of Trident Studios. Because of the studio's popularity, their debut album was mainly recorded during the studio's downtime. They were given free use of everything after the paying artists had left, including the latest technologies and production team. The self-titled album was released to favorable reviews, with several outlets comparing the band's sound to that of Led Zeppelin. Offered here is Queen's debut album boasting vintage (c. the album's release in 1973) signatures from all four members of the band - Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon - in ballpoint pen on the cover. In fine condition with light surface impressions and handling wear, this is the first debut album we have offered from Queen. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
