This is a wonderful two-page bit of correspondence from Hall of Famer Walter Johnson to a friend (Hastings) that is written on stationery of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. in Washington, D.C. On the letterhead, which features the Dr. Pepper logo, Johnson crossed out the Washington, D.C., address and added in his hand "Germantown, Md." which was where he lived in retirement after his baseball career ended. The content of the letter is intriguing, mostly personal, talking about children, worrying about children and then later on talking about the weather and farming, even mentioning his wheat yield and the price he got. He signed off by urging his friend to "stay well, and (I hope) your turkeys are doing better." No hint in the letter about what the turkeys were up to. Signed by Johnson in his attractive signature, 8/10 to 9/10. A rare and desirable extensive handwritten specimen from one of the most desirable signers in early baseball! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
