This 15.5" x 19.5" vellum document was signed on February 10, 1876 by Ulysses S. Grant as President and William W. Belknap as Secretary of War. The document appoints Charles B. White as "Surgeon with the rank of Major in the service of the United States". Dark blue embossed seal affixed to upper left shows some wear but remains intact. In overall fine condition with one vertical and several horizontal creases. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Steve Grad/Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
