To this day, Roger Maris is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball world in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61", eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process. With a record that lasted nearly forty years, two MVP trophies, three World Championships (two in pinstripes) & still no nickname, Maris remains a very important figure in baseball history. While his position in MLB history may be cemented, his allure in the autograph world continues to gain momentum. Offered here is potentially the most unique Roger Maris signed item we have ever offered - an 9" x 13" sketch executed entirely in Maris' hand of his 61st home run trajectory. The primitive sketch comes on a sheet of blank white paper on which Maris has drawn a baseball diamond with a dotted line pointing to where the homer was hit, with "#61" scrawled at its end terminus in right field. Maris has gone onto sign the sketch, "To Paul, Best Always, Roger Maris". The rendering has been framed along with a photo of Maris just after he hit the famed home run, to an overall size of 13" x 19". An incredible memento from one of baseball's most legendary moments! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
