Partly-printed, one-page vellum land grant, approximately 13.25” x 8.25”, dated August 20, 1818, and signed “James Monroe” by the 5th President of the United States. Via this document, Monroe grants Robert Hurley of Miami County...the North East quarter of section twenty five, in township nine, of range five, East of the Meridian line, drawn from the mouth of the Great Miami river, of the Lands directed to be sold at Cincinatti by the Act of Congress.” Mostly intact Land Office seal affixed. This document is VG and has intersecting folds (one through a single letter of signature) and mild toning and foxing. Monroe’s signature is exceptional! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services.
