Rogers Hornsby is known to this day as one of the best hitters of all time, 2nd only to Ty Cobb with his career batting average of .358. Playing for a stunning 23 seasons and coaching/managing for even longer, you could say he knew a thing or two about baseball. Offered here is a typed response to a young fan who had evidently written Hornsby asking him a series of questions. The slugger was kind enough to write a detailed response, listing his ideal All Star team (naturally including big names like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, and Walter Johnson) and answering other questions such as the "greatest thrill" of his career. Signed at the conclusion in bold blue ballpoint, "Rogers Hornsby", the letter has been written on WTMV letterhead, which is the radio station at which Hornsby worked on a program assisting with sports commentary. Overall in fine condition with two horizontal folds and scattered handling wear. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
