Known as one of the best field commanders in football, Bobby Layne was always recognized as a player who refused to lose. Doak Walker, a close friend and pro football teammate of Layne's, once said of Bobby, "This is a guy who never lost a game - the closk just ran out on him." Offered here is a lightweight wool button-up jacket worn by arguably the greatest quarterback in UT's illustrious football program. The Wilson size 40 jacket is a perfect orange hue and exhibits arched white felt letters ("TEXAS") on the reverse, with his number "22" applied to the upper portion of the sleeve. The jacket remains in very good condition and is ideal for display. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from game used expert Lou Lampson/Heritage Auctions.
