Offered here is a rare & desirable February 22nd, 1963 Cleveland Browns Football Company payroll check to collegiate star Ernie Davis for a sum of 2500 dollars. Davis was diagnosed with leukemia in the summer of 1962, and died less than a year later at age 23, without ever playing in a professional game. Despite the bleak diagnosis, the Browns would see things through till the end for Daivs, which would come less than three months following the issue date of this check, making this one of the final items signed by the 61 Heisman.
