Apollo 1, the first manned mission of the United States Apollo program, never made its target launch date of February 21, 1967. A cabin fire during a launch rehearsal test on January 27 at Cape Kennedy Air Force Station Launch Complex 34 killed all three crew members—Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Ed White, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee—and destroyed the Command Module. Offered here is an 8" x 10" color photograph of Ed White signed by the Senior Pilot, "To John Smith, Best wishes, Edward H. White". Considering the untimely death of the crew prior to even the official launch of the mission, this is an incredibly rare and desirable autograph - the first single signed photograph of White we have ever offered! Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
