Early on in his career, Barry Bonds utilized an assortment of bats while trying to find the make and model that appealed to him the most. The search quickly narrowed down to two brands--Louisville Slugger, and the lesser known Cooper. While Bonds ultimately settled in with Louisville Slugger as the brand of choice for the first part of his career, it's very apparent that he gave those Cooper bats quite the test drive as is evident with bat presented in this auction offering.

Showcased is a Cooper CH238 Barry Bonds pro model bat, used extensively by Bonds in the early part of his career. Measuring 33.75" x and 32.3 ounces, this bat showcases excellent usage with numerous impact markings and ball transfers along the barrel. The handle showcases a solid layer of pine tar to further solidify usage. The bat originally showcased a sticker that said "1991" as referenced in the PSA letter, and our research shows multiple photos of Bonds using this model of bat early in the 1991 season. A superb game used example from one of the greatest--and arguably the greatest--slugger ever to step to the plate. Accompanied by a Letter of Grading & Authenticity from PSA/DNA, with the bat receiving an overall grade of GU 9!
