The 1950 New York Yankees sometimes get lost in the context of their history. Collecting-wise, as if waiting for Mantle to arrive, the 1950 Yankees always seem to be overlooked. Even their vanquished World Series opponent, the "Whiz Kids" of Philly, get more recognition. Nonetheless, they were World Champions and they represented the penultimate season of Joe DiMaggio. No subway series that year; the Yanks beat the tar out of the Phillies, sweeping them in four games. This is a Reach official American League (Harridge) baseball signed by 23 members of that team including: Joe DiMaggio (on the sweet spot), Gene Woodling, Billy Martin (rookie year), Ralph Houk, Joe Ostrowski, Joe Collins, Jim Turner (coach) Vic Raschi, Cliff Maples, Fred Sanford, Jerry Coleman, Hank Bauer, Tommy Byrne, Joe Page, Jackie Jensen, Billy Johnson, Johnny Mize (twice, once just signed "Johnny"), Tom Heinrich, Bobby Brown, Ralph Houk,  Phil Rizzuto, Allie Reynolds, Tom Ferrick, Charlie Silvera and others. Mickey would arrive the next year to keep the dynasty alive. The baseball is a lovely cream color, in overall Near Mint condition with signatures averaging "9". Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
