Incredible Game Used Bat Photo-Matched to Clutch RBI Base Hit!After a stellar 2016 season that saw him make a run for AL MVP, Jose Altuve has cemented his status as one of the game's elite second basemen. Despite his diminutive stature, Altuve has won 2 batting titles in 3 years and proves to be a guiding force on a young and talented Houston Astros roster.
Presented in this auction offering is a choice piece of lumber that was personally game used by Jose Altuve on July 24, 2015 in a road game against Kansas City Royals. The bat’s model number and Altuve's signature are engraved at the end of the barrel above “PRO SELECT LIMITED” and “06301486.3 - 33/31.” That bat shows solid usage, including patches of pine tar residue along the handle with a repair to a crack that occurred upon impact when using this bat to earn an RBI hit in the Top of the 4th inning. The barrel also showcases an assortment of rack and ball contact markings.
Review of the footage of the game shows that Altuve cracked his bat on contact with the ball, and photo imagery has been captured that show an exact match to the crack at time of impact to the repaired crack showcased on this bat. To further solidify provenance, the bat features an authentication hologram from MLB Authentication that identifies exact usage of the bat. With Altuve poised to have another MVP-caliber season, now is the time to pick up game used material on this baseball superstar.
