Offered here is a typed letter, in German, on Albert Einstein's personal Princeton letterhead, hand signed at the conclusion "A. Einstein". Measuring at 7.5" x 9" and dating to February 24, 1939, the letter to Dr. Joseph Cohn details his recommendations of several potential hires for a university. He notes that he is uncomfortable recommending a Mr. Sarnoff for a position due to his previous behavior. He also notes that he heard a report from Jerusalem that a Mr. Furth is being considered as Professor of Physics, and that although he does not oppose, he thinks highly of a Mr. Bargmann and would recommend him if Mr. Furth falls through. A nice example of recommendations in the scientific field from one of the greatest physicists of all time. In fine condition with moderate toning and handling wear, including vertical and horizontal creases. The autograph is clean and bold. Accompanied by a full Letter of AUthenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
