Wife (1757-1854) of founding father Alexander Hamilton, who became co-founder and deputy director of the first private orphanage in New York City. She did much to shape her husband's legacy after his death in a duel with Aaron Burr, and she has recently gained renewed recognition due to her portrayal in the popular musical Hamilton.

Offered here is a handwritten and signed letter, two pages accomplished on one sheet folded, 4" x 6.25" each page. Penned to her granddaughter Elizabeth Schuyler, Mrs. Hamilton writes a brief letter regarding personal matters. Penned entirely in Hamilton's hand and signed at the conclusion, "Yours, E. Hamilton." at the conclusion. Second page has "Mrs. George Schuyler," in Hamilton's hand along with some collectors notations. Some light toning to the paper, otherwise fine. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
