This map of the Earth's moon was published in National Geographic in February 1969. It features detailed illustrations of both the near and far sides of the moon, as well as an abundance of illustrations and information about the moon including its physical properties, phases, eclipses, orbital paths, and the Apollo mission. Just a few months later, Neil Armstrong and his Apollo 11 crew would land on that moon, becoming the first men to ever walk on the surface. This incredible 27.5" x 41.75" map has been signed by Armstrong in blue ballpoint pen. The signature was apparently initially procured through a visit by Neil Armstrong to the army base in Wiesbaden, Germany. The map has many intersecting folds and some minor handling wear, but would make an excellent display piece - especially once framed! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
