Billed as “My only Authorized Story,” The Babe Ruth Story is still respected as the definitive treatise on the Yankee legend. Available in this listing is a first edition copy that Babe Ruth signed (“10”) on the first title page. It’s a positively spectacular fountain pen signature, and there’s simply not a more apt medium to hold such a treasure. The book is hardbound (with a dust jacket, which is EX/MT, from a later edition). We report that the volume itself is NM … qualified only by minor surface abrasions on the spine. Perhaps the most remarkable consideration of this Ruth signature is that it was obviously scribed in 1948 as the Babe was nearing his end.
