Highlighted by an extremely bold signature of Babe Ruth, the ball presented here has a special significance to the 1942 film The Pride of the Yankees. This incredible signed baseball commemorating what many consider to be the finest baseball film ever made. The Pride of the Yankees , produced in 1942, portrayed the life of Lou Gehrig and starred Gary Cooper in the title role. Also appearing in the film, as himself, was Babe Ruth. This Official American League (Herridage) baseball has been signed by 6 key members of the film, with Ruth boldly presented on the sweet-spot, Gary Cooper (Star Actor), Sam Wood (Director), Walter Brennan (Actor), Teresa Wright (Co-Star Actress) and former Major League star Babe Herman who played a technical advisor of baseball on the film. It’s worth noting that a few balls were gifted to the staff, with most having Ruth presented on the side panel on a non-official baseball, while this ball doesn’t display those negative attributes. Overall in fine condition with even toning & two adhesive marks on the side panels. Full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
