During the Atlanta Braves' competitive run in the 1990s, it seemed as if there championship aspirations were always railroaded by the New York Yankees. And while Braves skipper Bobby Cox spent a good deal of time figuring out how to beat the Bronx Bombers, there once was a time when he wore the Yankee pinstripes himself! Offered here is a rare one-page agreement, dated July 25, 1971, in which Cox acknowledges that he agreedto become a player-coach with the Yankees Class-A affiliate, the Ft. Lauderdale Yankees. The document is signed in ballpoint pen, "Robert J. Cox," and stands in overall fine condition. The document measures 8.5" x 11" and is accompanied by a carbon copy of a correspondence letter originally included with the executed document. COA from PSA/DNA.
