A Fender Stratocaster that's been personally owned and played by Eric Clapton. The guitar was given by Clapton to a crew member during his 2001 tour named "Reptile World Tour". The tour began on February 3, 2001, and highlighted Clapton's 2001 album "Reptile", released on Marsch 5. The guitar alone is very rare and sought after as it's an incredibly beautiful 1980 "Candy Apple Red"-colored Stratocaster with details in gold from "The Strat" collection. The guitar is marked "Made in USA", and the serial number of the guitar is "G 029766”.

Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from the original owner, who got it from Clapton, including a 1980s photo of Clapton with a very similar guitar. The letter in part: "I was always fond of Eric Clapton as a solo artist but also his work with Cream, Yardbirds and Derek & the dominos. Eric is very friendly and he was kind to everyone in the crew. The Reptile tour was to be my last as I got another job in 2001. I asked Eric’s assistant if I could buy one of the cheaper guitars of Eric’s collection (to clarify: he had many very high end guitars which was out of my spending limit…). After some days, I was told that Eric did not want to sell any guitars, but he wanted to gift me a guitar instead! I know that Eric gets guitars sent to him from pretty much all guitar brands, but still… It is very generous of him to just give away a guitar like that. To my surprise, it was a gorgeous candy apple Strat! The guitar is American made and the serial is G029766. It was made in the early 80’s. Below is a photo of Eric with a red Strat. The guitar case was added later.”
