Extensive handwritten letter by Elizabeth Taylor in black ink on four attached 5” x 8” pages, and signed at the conclusion, “All my love, Elizabeth.” Lengthy and personal love letter to her first fiancé William “Bill” Pawley reads, in part: “My Darling Bill, I’ve just come in from talking to you…what is going to happen to us…Oh God! I hope and pray that some day we can be happy...if we really and truly love each other with all our hearts…and we were really meant for each other then nothing in Gods earth can keep us from belonging to each other for the rest of our lives…” In fine condition, with some mild toning from envelope tape. Beautifully and archivally matted and framed so that the signed page is placed last, and high-quality copies of the prior pages precede, rendering all handwriting visible; also included is a copy of a signed photo from the same collection, to an overall size of 37.75” x 15.25.” The archive from which this rare letter originates was chronicled in Autograph Magazine’s February 2009 cover issue on Elizabeth Taylor.
