Now simply known as the mid-summer classic, the Major League Baseball All Star game has been a tradition since July 6, 1933 where it made its debut at Chicago’s Comiskey Park. Providing thousands of Midwesterners with their first taste of Major League competition, drawing curious families who were making their first pilgrimage to the big city to see America's Game's greatest stars. Many historians consider this event the first salvo in the battle for western expansion of the Major Leagues, a dream that would finally be realized in the 50's-60's with the expansion to California. Needless to say, the history behind this now annual event is deep in nature. Offered here for the first time publicly is this impressive family relic stemming originally from the 1933 All Star Game, consigned in of all places, Chicago. Featuring 26 signatures in total, many of which from the 1933 All Star game roster, with other signatures presumed attendees to the inaugural event to an evenly toned Home Run Special regulation sphere. Notable signatures include: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Lefty Gomez, Gabby Hartnett, Lefty O'Doul, Al Simmons, Frank Frisch, Pepper Martin, Eddie Collins, Al Lopez, Rogers Hornsby, Dizzy Dean & others. Overall in fine condition with event toning, minor use & minor scuffing. Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
