This special commemorative Rawlings Gene Budig Official American League Ball contains a Ripken, Orioles, 8, 2130-2131, logo on its side panel and is signed by Ripken in blue ball point ink on the sweet spot. The ball was used in Ripken’s record breaking 2,131st consecutive game and is also signed by all four members of the game’s umpiring crew including: Larry Barnett with a “A.L. #22” inscription, Greg Kosc with “A.L.#18,” Dan Morrison who added “A.L. Umpire #34” and Al Clark with a “A.L. ump #24” inscription. Morrison has said about these balls, "The baseballs were produced for this special two night event only. On this night Cal Ripken Jr. became baseballs new Iron Man with 2131 consecutive games, passing the Iron Horse, Lou Gehrig. This was truly a special night for baseball, it was a celebration of what baseball is.” Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
