Before his number "42" was retired by every team in baseball; before his election to Baseball's Hall of Fame; before he won the MVP award in 1949; before he was named the first ever Rookie of the Year in 1947; and before he starred in football at UCLA, Jackie Robinson began his sports career at Pasadena Junior College. This is the yearbook for Pasadena Junior College for the year 1938. It is signed by a host of graduates and faculty. The lucky student who passed it around for signatures obtained the signature of the school's star athlete, Jack Robinson, on all four photos of him in the yearbook. All four signatures are accomplished by Robinson is a dark and vibrant steel tip fountain pen ink. Two signatures have inscriptions while two are just signed Jack Robinson. Aside from some moderate spine wear (which could easily be repaired with restoration) this vintage gem stands otherwise fine. Excellent early signatures from the Brooklyn Dodger great! Accompanied by FOUR (4) full Letters of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA)(one for each signed page).
