Rare and very desirable signed bank check, filled out and signed by Robinson just days prior to the start of Spring Training for his second season in Major League baseball. Dated March 1, 1948, the check is made payable to Elinor Pales for $160.00. Of particular note and rarity, Robinson's name is printed as "Jackie Robinson" on the check, whereas most checks seen on the market are typically from a later date (usually 1950s & 1960s) and feature Robinson's printed name as "Jack Robinson". The check exhibits some scattered soiling toward the top edge and some light wrinkling, none of which affects Robinson's strong back ink handwriting and autograph.
