Partly-printed, one-page vellum land grant, approximately 13.25” x 8.25”, dated April 20, 1818, and signed “James Monroe” by the 5th President of the United States. Via this document, Monroe grants "James Crosby, asignee of David Howe...the South West quarter, of section twenty seven, in township sixteen, of range fifteen, of the Lands directed to be sold at Ganesville by the Act of Congress.” Mostly intact Land Office seal affixed. This document is VG and has intersecting folds (one through a single letter of signature), slightly trimmed edges, a few small areas of paper loss, and mild toning and foxing. Monroe’s signature is exceptional! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
