Desirable handwritten and signed document segment, December 24, 1757, with two lines in Hancock’s hand acknowledging receipt of "Thirty pounds three shillings & two pence in part of within by the Hands of Mr. Joseph Hull." Nicely signed at the conclusion by John Hancock accented by his famous decorative paraph beneath.

The document, measuring 7.5” x 2,” is written on the verso of a partly-printed document in the name of John Hancock's wealthy uncle, Thomas Hancock, whose estate John inherited in 1764 making him the wealthiest man in New England while still in his twenties. In very good to fine condition, with a professionally taped repair on verso, running horizontally between the lines of text, not affecting Hancock's signature. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA in a 12.5” x 5.5.” holder. Nicely preserved piece of early Americana featuring one of the most notable autographs in history—the first signer of the Declaration of Independence.
