After a stellar 2016 season that saw him make a run for AL MVP, Jose Altuve has cemented his status as one of the game's elite second basemen. Despite his diminutive stature, Altuve has won 2 batting titles in 3 years and proves to be a guiding force on a young and talented Houston Astros roster. Presented in this auction offering is a choice piece of lumber that was personally game used by Jose Altuve on September 16th, 2013 versus the Cincinatti Reds in a 2-4 hitting performance. In particular, this bat was used by Altuve in the first inning to score a single off Cincy ace Johnny Cueto, which became Altuve's 392nd career hit. Altuve has racked up many more hits since then, and his meteoric rise in the Big Leagues have some thinking he will be among the next generation to reach 3,000 hits on what appears to be a Hall of Fame career in the making. Overall the bat remains in good condition with excellent use & two cracks. Authenticated by MLB authentication with their serial-numbered authentication sticker affixed.
