LeBron James continued his ascent up the NBA’s all-time leading points list when his Los Angeles Lakers took on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. James scored 29 points and along the way, passed former Laker Kobe Bryant for third on the all-time points list. Despite Lebron’s 29 points and Anthony Davis’ 31 points, the Sixers, led by Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris defeated the Lakers 108-91 in front of 21,109 fans. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone have scored more career points than James.

Aside from the magnitude of the feat for Lebron that night, what occurred within these nets that night of January 25, 2020 was significant on multiple levels. As a result of Lebron passing him on the all-time scoring list, Kobe Bryant took to twitter to congratulate Lebron on his accomplishment. Little did anyone know that this would be Kobe's final public communication to the world. This was the last Lakers game played before the tragic events the next morning when Kobe Bryant and eight others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The last basketball game ever witnessed by the legendary Mamba was indeed a great one.

Offered here are the two white nylon nets that were taken down after this historic game. These classic nets are all-white with longer loops on the top and shorter inter-connecting loops on the bottom two-thirds. These nets show moderate wear and are in excellent condition. They were taken down following the game and individually marked by 76ers and Fanatics. Both nets have a bar code number GUBKNT0218 and are labeled “PHILADELPHIA 76ERS (LBJ/#3 ALL-TIME PTS/1-25-20) GU NET. They also come with individual certificates of authenticity from the Philadelphia 76ers signed by Dan Rosci Assistant Equipment Manager and Desron Dorset VP, Business Development. Each certificate has a Fanatics hologram (AA0051573 & AA0051574). A remarkable piece of basketball history deserving to be in the finest of collections.
