A UK stereo vinyl pressing of Led Zeppelin’s 1970 LP “Led Zeppelin III” that has been autographed by the group in blue and black felt tip pen. Jimmy Page and John Bonham have signed the front of the sleeve in black felt tip, while Robert Plant and John Paul Jones have signed the front of the sleeve in blue felt tip pen. The autographs were obtained by an individual who worked closely with the band and represents arguably the nicest Zep III example that we've ever encountered. “Led Zeppelin III” is the band’s third studio album and considered to be one of Zeppelin’s best. Headlined by “Immigrant Song” — which is consistently ranked as one of the greatest rock songs of all-time — the album has sold over 13 million copies worldwide to date.
The band’s third studio album saw Led Zeppelin stretching their wings from straight rock into a bit of folk and acoustic attesting to the iconic foursome’s overarching prowess. An instantaneous commercial success, it was one of the most anticipated of 1970, with the ship date being held up by its intricate volvelle-based design, which includes images visible through holes in the outer cover. Visually captivating and highly sought-after Zeppelin complete with signatures presenting nicely against the white background and band’s images.
Like the significance of this album’s influence on music, the rarity of a complete group signed Zeppelin album cannot be overstated. Led Zeppelin stood as perhaps one of the most difficult rock bands to access from an autograph perspective. And, unlike those who came before them such as the Beatles or the Stones, the group was shielded by security and managers at virtually all times. Capping it off with Bonham's early death and the band's breakup, to say band signed pieces by this group are a rarity would be an understatement. To put it in perspective, it could be argued that for every 100 Beatles group signed pieces in existence, there may only be 1 Led Zeppelin group signed item!
