Here is a spectacularly rare first issue U.K. vinyl pressing of Led Zeppelin’s untitled fourth studio album, commonly referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, signed clearly on the front cover in blue ballpoint by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones. The cover was signed shortly after the album’s release on November 8th, 1971. This is the earliest UK vinyl pressing on Atlantic’s Red/Plum label with the first A//3 PECKO DUCK B//3 PORKY matrices. Has the rare ‘Misty Mountain Top’ misprint on side two. As such, this first issue comes with the unlaminated gatefold cover which made for an ideal surface for the four signatures to adhere.
Led Zeppelin IV is widely considered the band’s magnum opus. The album was produced by guitarist Jimmy Page and recorded in the country house of Headley Grange between December 1970 and February 1971. The album is notable for featuring ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ which has been described as the band's signature song. Led Zeppelin signed albums are particularly scarce due to the band’s notoriously strict security and management, led by Peter Grant. As such, authentically signed albums by all four original members of Led Zeppelin are rare and desirable, and this is a world-class example of their most celebrated album. The cover and original vinyl disc are in excellent condition.
