On an 8.5" x 11" sheet of lined, yellow paper, folded twice. Three lines in pencil, in Stevie's hand, and three lines in ink written by Janna Lapidus Leblanc who was SRV's girlfriend at the time. Vaughan's three lines "No money in my pocket / No clothes on my back/ No food on the table / No" don't appear in the final version of the song. The four lines in Janna's hand vary from the original chorus in terms of distance "I'm a thousand miles from nowhere" versus the final version's "million miles from nowhere." Please refer to the other handwritten fragment of "Long Way From Home" lyrics currently running in this auction to see SRV's creative process as he writes the song. Family Style was released on September 25, 1990 - a month after Stevie's untimely death, the only studio album by the Vaughan Brothers. Top edge rough from being ripped from a pad, otherwise excellent condition. COA from Janna Lapidus Leblanc.
A stunning New Zealand beauty and the last love - and fiancée of legendary Blues guitar icon Stevie Ray Vaughan, Janna Lapidus Leblanc lived with Vaughan for the final years of his life, from 1987 to 1990. During that time, the successful model took multitudes of photographs documenting their life together. Decades after Stevie's untimely passing, Leblanc released Four Years in Pictures: Offstage with Stevie Ray Vaughan, a photo-heavy book giving fans an intimate glimpse into not only the couple's relationship, but his recovery, and as the title states, an offstage look at his rise to stardom.
