Bernie Grundman Mastering single-sided acetate test pressing for Prince’s “Hot Thing” 7” 45 RPM single. Disc label reads “Prince, Warner Bros. Records, 45 RPM, Stereo, Side B, Hot Thing, 3:40,” and included is the original mastering sleeve. Annotation in black felt tip marker on the front of the sleeve reads, “Paisley Park, Oct 15, 1987, Prince, “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man,” “Hot Thing” 7.” In fine condition, with some unobtrusive foxing to label on disc. Acetate test pressings are made in very limited quantities of a much more fragile material than regular vinyl, and are extremely rare in the marketplace. On November 3, 1987, the edited version of “Hot Thing” appeared as the B-side to Prince’s “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” single.
