Original sheet music for “Hound Dog” from Steve Binder’s collection of music and production notes from the ’68 Comeback Special, sold as #97 at the Fleetwood Owen Auction held at the Bally’s Hotel/Casino on June 16th, 2001. Accompanied by printouts of the catalog listing and cover, and a detailed letter of provenance from the EP Archives, reading in part: “Steve Binder produced the 68’ Comeback Special for NBC…This became a turning point of Elvis’ career and relaunched him back into concerts. This music arrangement for ‘Hound Dog’ was put together by famed musical composer, Billy Goldenberg to be used by Elvis and his band.” A rare, show-used Elvis musical arrangement for one his most iconic songs.
