The Game is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 30 June 1980 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. The Game features a different sound from its predecessor, Jazz (1978). A critical and commercial success, The Game became the only Queen album to reach No. 1 in the US, and became their best-selling studio album in the US, with four million copies sold to date, tying with the sales for News of the World. Notable songs on the album include the bass-driven "Another One Bites the Dust" and the rockabilly "Crazy Little Thing Called Love".

An amazing relic for the serious Queen collector, we are proud to present here the original RIAA gold sales award issued to Freddie Mercury to commemorate the album's first step in critical success, which came in the form of selling 500,000 copies of the album. The award is housed in the RIAA gilt frame ensemble and shows some slight handling wear. Proud of his success, Mercury was known to prominently display his awards, as showcased in the attached photo to this listing.

Original RIAA awards in any form from legendary bands are highly coveted by collectors, and examples such as this sourcing from a frontman for arguably the band's most successful album are "elite level" pieces that rarely appear in public hands. Don't miss this opportunity to own a key piece of Queen history!
