This autographed 15.5"x19.25" Military Appointment, dated June 18, 1894, has been personally signed by Grover Cleveland and Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War. The Commission appoints George H. Torney as "Surgeon with the rank of Major". George H. Torney was a medical service of the United States Navy and Army from 1871 until the time of his death in 1913. In 1909 he was appointed Surgeon General of the United States Army. This item is further accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services.
