Fukang meteorite, weighing 77.3 grams and measuring approximately 87 mm x 80 mm x 3 mm. The area now known as Fukang in China has a history that dates back to the Han and Tang dynasties and it was an important stop on the Silk Road. Found in 2000 by an anonymous finder, the Fukang meteorite belongs to the stony-iron group and is a pallasite, perhaps the most alluring of all meteorites. They consist of a nickel-iron matrix and colorful olivine crystals. As of the fall of 2021, out of nearly 67,000 officially recognized meteorites, there are only 140 known pallasites and few as handsome as Fukang.
An extremely beautiful pallasite characterized by extraordinarily large and colorful olivine crystals, Fukang has rapidly become a favorite among collectors due to the stunning and enormous olivine crystals. The absolute finest display piece.
Accompanied by an Aerolite Meteorites COA. Aerolite, one of the world’s most well-respected meteorite companies, was founded by Geoff Notkin, who famously starred in the TV show “Meteorite Men.”
