Here is rare baseball signed by Yankee teammates Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin – two members of the “Whiskey Slick” gang. That was the nickname that Casey Stengel gave to Mickey Mantle, Billy Martin, and Whitey Ford. All three were NY Yankee teammates from 1953-57. That is until the fight at Manhattan’s Copacabana Nightclub on May 15, 1957. Mantle, Berra, Ford, Bauer, and Kucks were celebrating Billy Martin’s 29th birthday when they got into a drunken fight with other patrons at the Copa. All six players were fined. This gave Yankee GM George Weiss an excuse to trade Billy Martin. On June 15, 1957, Billy Martin was part of an eight-player trade to the Kansas City Athletics.

This Rawlings Official American League Lee MacPhail baseball (Made in Haiti) is signed by Billy Martin on the sweet spot with Mickey Mantle penning another panel. Yankee teammates with both being enshrined in Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park. The ball comes with a full JSA LOA # Z28231.
